Welcome to our fantastic spa for dogs. TPSB spa caters to the elite of the doggie world and we maintain the highest standards to please the posh socialites. Our attention to even the smallest details is what sets us ahead of Vancouver’s conventional grooming scene.

Nothing is too good for our furry clients at The Pet Shop Boys! Our top of the line spa is equipped with hydraulic styling tables, reduced noise forced-air dryers, faux-fur lined waiting crates, and a hydro-jetted bathing tub imported from the UK. Not to mention that our spa is so clean that you can eat sushi off of our Italian porcelain floors! These features create the full spa experience to satisfy the most cosmopolitan of dogs.

Upon arrival for your spa appointment, our groomer will meet with you for a private consultation to customize your dog’s spa experience where you can choose from our selection of nine deliciously organic shampoos. Once your dog is squeaky clean, we escort him/her to the drying table where he/she is hand brushed and blow dried to bring out the natural shine and volume. From there we move onto the styling table where the magic begins. Our fantastic grooming stylists can create any custom look. From clean and conservative to voluminous and fashion-forward, They can do it all!

They specialize in hand scissoring and fashion cuts with exceptional attention to detail. Their passion for animals and style shines through their exceptional grooming results. In addition to classic grooms, they can transform even the scruffiest dog into a work of art with personalized fashion cuts and colorful dyes. Their gentle touch and quick hands produce exceptional results for even high stress dogs. From paw-dicures and highlights to a classic, clean groom, our groomer’s innovation yet practical approach to grooming far surpass expectations.

If you’re looking for a “back to basics” groom we also know how to keep it simple  with a refreshing bath and tidy up, dematting, defurminating, anal glad expression, hand stripping, nail trims, ear plucking, and paw tidy ups.

And for the furry fashionistas we say bring it on! Once you fall in love with your fashion show cut, we take your dog to the next vogue level with a French paw-dicure, nail art, crystal earrings, and feathered hair bows.

Madra Mor Mud Treatments

Fortifying Mud – ($25 to $50)

This is the most popular treatment for the every day stinky dog. Fortifying Mud strengthens the coat and protects the skin for a beautiful coat. Loaded with food grade diatomaceous earth, apple cider vinegar, andiroba seed oil, omegas, and tea tree oil, this formula will have your dog looking and smelling fantastic while replenishing dry skin and tackling ingrown hairs or clogged pores.

Soothing Mud – ($25 to $50)

Hot spots, blemishes, irritations and other canine dermatitis conditions cause pain, tenderness and sensitivity. Soothing Mud uses mineral rich clay with high concentrations of colloidal oatmeal and nourishing, healing ingredients such as organic aloe vera powder, green-tea, lavender, and Witch Hazel. These time tested skin care ingredients promote healthy cell regeneration, ease irritation related to itchy and scratchy skin, and rejuvenate the essential lipid barrier.

Shed-Safely Mud – ($25 to $50)

Shed Safely Mud helps remove loose coat and decrease shedding at home. It’s made with fine, nutrient rich, hypoallergenic clay and a line-up of powerful, nourishing ingredients to form a creamy, mousse like texture: Aloe Vera Whole Leaf Dried Powder, Borage Oil (Omega Fatty Essential Acid), and Rice Bran Oil (Rich in Antioxidants, Vitamin E), Zinc and Allantion. Mother Nature’s best ingredients that cleanse, exfoliate, and feed the skin to promote healthy cell regeneration.

Mobility Mud – ($25 to $50)

Exercise, arthritis, and general aches and pains can cause your dog discomfort usually brought on by inflammation in the muscles. Mobility Mud is infused with peppermint and menthol to promote healthy circulation. Your dog will love the cooling sensation of the cold therapy given with the mud massage – menthol is a local anesthetic that stimulates nerve receptors in the skin to relieve pain and itching. This treatment gets the blood flowing and flushes the toxins.

Pet Oral Hygiene Specialist with Tina Bell

Who Is Tina Bell?

Tina grew up on Vancouver Island where her family always had a lot of animals. She had horses, goats, bunnies, reptiles, and her mother operated a small petting zoo for educational tours for schools. Naturally, her love for animals grew strong from a very young age and she always knew that she would spend her life surrounded by them. After high school she took a course in grooming in Oak Bay. She worked as a groomer for four years before she became interested in animal oral hygiene. In May of 2006 Tina completed the K9 oral hygiene course offered at K9 Brite Bark in Victoria B.C. Since then she has helped thousands of happy clients and counting. Today she lives in Victoria with her husband and two children where she operates her anesthetic-free K9 and feline oral hygiene business throughout B.C. Tina sincerely loves what she does- helping people keep their dogs and cats happy and healthy for years to come with fresh breath and bright smiles.

Why Keep My Dog’s Teeth Clean?

Did you know that gum issues aren’t just a human health problem? Gum disease also affects cats and dogs. Just like humans, oral neglect can lead to more serious problems such as heart disease and organ failure. In fact, the more we learn about our four legged friends, the more we learn that oral care is equally important to our pets as it is to us. That means brushing and regular cleaning.

We understand that life is busy and it’s easy to forget about the little, but important, details. Don’t worry, we are here to help!

Good oral care can help your pet live a longer and healthier life. Bones and treats alone won’t keep your dog’s teeth healthy. Most domesticated pets need professional scaling, flossing and polishing to keep their teeth in prime shape. Dreaded “doggie breath” is usually the result of gas given off by bacteria that live in your pet’s mouth. The more bacteria your cat or dog has in his/her mouth, the more severe the odour. Consistent oral care will significantly reduce dreaded“doggie breath.”

Tina, our Pet Oral Hygiene Specialist, is the newest member of the The Pet Shop Boys and we are extremely excited to add her to our excellent team of holistic pet care specialists!

What is a Pet Oral Hygiene Specialist?

As a certified Pet Oral Hygiene Specialist, Tina is a member of the K90HA Organization based in Victoria BC. She is trained and certified in “sedation-fee” cleaning and preventative care for cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. She uses the latest sonic technology to gently remove the plaque and polish without aggressively scraping your pet’s teeth. The benefits of this technique over conventional veterinary methods are numerous. This 100% natural and hygienic option bypasses the complication of a medical procedure. The procedure is quick, stress-free, worry-free, risk-free, and cost effective. In most cases we are able to clean your pet’s teeth in less than an hour and always without any side effects.

When you come in for your first appointment you will receive a free consultation to determine the condition of your pet’s teeth. She will chart and document any abnormalities and discuss with you the best oral hygiene routine for you and your pet.

Once your pet’s teeth are looking like a movie star, she will show you the right techniques to maintain that Hollywood smile with all natural, easy to use products.
